band and swivel bales. The heat stamp is 513A with the Schleuter S beneath (Post Nov 44). When acquired the shell was clean and without paint inside; the outer had been chromed; the chrome was in poor condition. It is in great condition. The shell was stripped to bare metal, primed then painted in olive-drab with a textured outer. A new OD3 chinstrap set has been fitted. Liner: The liner is an original WW2 high-pressure type manufactured by Firestone with the logo and the mould number A21 in the crown. When acquired, the liner was painted in several layers with the top most being a dark matt olive-drab; the inside had been painted in white. The liner was stripped bare and the outer repainted in olive-drab. The liner had the partial remains of its original single-weave OD3 webbing. The liner has been fully refitted with new OD3 triple-weave webbing, new A washers and rivets; new sweatband, new neck strap and a new leather chinstrap. Depiction: The helmet has white D-Day tactical markings with a junior officer bar at the front and a vertical follow-me bar at the back; a dark brown cam net has been fitted.
