The shell is an original WWII McCord Radiator with a front seam, stainless-steel band and swivel bales. The heat stamp is 307E (late 1942). When acquired the shell was painted in post-war dark green outside and possibly its original factory olive-drab inside; this has been retained. There are a couple of minor dings around the crown otherwise the shell is in good condition. A new para type OD3 chinstrap set has been fitted. The liner is an original Koren War vintage high-pressure type manufactured by Westinghouse with the logo and the mould number D20 in the crown. When acquired, the liner was painted in its original factory olive-drab; this finish was in poor condition. The outer was stripped bare and repainted in olive-drab. The liner also had most of its original OD7 webbing plus all its ‘A’ washers and rivets but in poor condition. The liner has been fully refitted to WW2 specifications as a Para liner with new triple-weave OD3 webbing, new ‘A’ washers, new rivets, new sweatband, new neck strap, new para ‘A’ straps, new leather chin-cup, a new leather chinstrap and new female para chinstrap snaps. The helmet is a standard M1C Para helmet. An original WW2, small mesh, olive-drab cam net has been fitted; it is damaged in a couple of places.
