US FS #88 - The shell is an original WWII McCord Radiator with a front seam, stainless-steel band and swivel bales. The heat stamp is very faintly stamped and hard to read; visible as 4_8_. The shell retains nearly all of its original olive-drab paint inside and out; just a little soiled. The helmet is named inside to MAJ PAWLAK. A new OD3 chinstrap set has been fitted. The liner is an original WW2 high-pressure type manufactured by CAPAC with the logo and the mould number 11 in the crown. When acquired, the liner had the remains of its original factory paint with some post war graffiti on the front. The outer was stripped to its natural finish. The liner retains its original triple-weave OD3 webbing; no maker marks evident. It retains its original A washers and rivets. The shell was fitted with a new sweatband, new neck strap and a new leather chinstrap. The cover is a Korean War vintage in unissued condition; there had been  no chinstrap slits cut; I did that when mounting it on the shell. It is a USMC type with foliage slits; reversible camouflage from jungle to beach sides. It is marked on the  beach side COVER  HELMET, CAMOUFLAGE BLUE ANCHOR OVERALL CO., INC TAP – 1424 29 APR 1953. It has black ink EGA stamps inside and out. It is in ‘as new’ condition.
