US FS #61 - The shell is an original WWII McCord Radiator with a front seam, stainless steel band and swivel bales. The heat stamp is 785B. On the exterior, the shell retains most of its original olive-drab paint and texture; the interior is in fair condition but remains original without rust. The shell is undamaged and is not retouched in any way. A new OD3 chinstrap set has been fitted. The liner is an original WW2, high pressure type manufactured by Firestone. It has the Firestone logo and F4 in the crown. When acquired it was painted silver externally and what was left of the khaki webbing and hardware was in poor condition. There is a 15mm crack at the right-rear which has been stabilized with epoxy resin. The liner shell was totally stripped; the outer surface was a bit scratchy so it was primed and repainted in olive-drab. The inside has been fully refurbished with brand new triple-weave khaki webbing, new hardware, new sweatband, new brown leather chinstrap and new neck strap. A factory new upgrade for this 70 year old - M1 liner. This cover is a 100% original Korean vintage example. It is in good condition with little damage. It has faint EGA stamps to both the beach and jungle sides. It is also faintly maker ink-stamped on the beach - COVER HELMET CAMOUFLAGE – BLUE ANCHOR OVERALL CO INC – TAP 1424 29 APRIL 1953.
