M42 #112 - Shell: The shell is an original WWII Model 1942 size 64 steel shell. When it was acquired, it was painted in the black signifying its use by the Czech Republic, post war. The shell was in perfect condition. Factory markings inside the skirt near the left ear read ET64. ET show the manufacturer as Eisenhuttenwerk AG, Thale, Harz and the shell size as 64cm. Inside the rear skirt is the batch number, 2486. The shell is in perfect condition. It was stripped to bare metal, primed and painted in standard grey-green with a textured outer. Liner: The liner is a reproduction M1931 type with zinc outer band, pigskin leather and shoelace type, cotton drawstring, marked as size 57. These liners are imported from the Czech Republic, identical to originals and the best available. Chinstrap: The chinstrap is an excellent replacement with steel fittings, the tongue is marked RB Nr0/0390/0204. Restored Depiction: Helmet is a SD Army in standard grey-green. A splinter pattern camo cover has been fitted.
