M35 #31 - Shell: The shell is an original WW2 Model 1935, size 64cm example. The factory make/size stamp is no longer visible; could be an EF by the lot number. The lot number is 20225 (the 20 is very faint). The shell is painted in the 1935-40 smooth green; there is evidence of minor pitting inside otherwise the shell is in excellent condition. A clear 1939 acceptance stamp has been applied to the inner dome. Liner: The liner is an imported replica M1931 helmet liner, with a zinc outer band and pig skin leather. The leather is ink marked 57 (57cm head size). The liner is of the highest quality; imported from the Czech Republic; identical to originals and the best on the market. Chinstrap: The leather chinstrap is an imported replica also from the Czech Republic. It is marked GUNT. VOGEL, COTTEBUS 1939. Restored Depiction: This helmet represents a standard issue, DD Army helmet. A replica splinter pattern camo cover has been fitted.
