M35 #29 - Shell: The shell is an original WW2 Model 1935, size 64cm example. It has the factory stamps SE64 (Sachsische Emailler) with a lot number of 3134. When acquired the shell was in a post-war repaint of early smooth green; DD Army. The finish is well worn. This helmet remains as acquired. Two of the liner rivets are original to the helmet; the third is also an original but not to this helmet. Liner: The liner is a nice replacement M1931 helmet liner, with a zinc outer band and pig skin leather. The leather is ink marked 57 (57cm head size). The liner is of the highest quality; imported from the Czech Republic; identical to originals and the best on the market. Chinstrap: The leather chin strap is a good replacement with aluminium hardware. It is marked R.LARSEN BERLIN 1939. Restored Depiction: This helmet appears as a DD Army, Service worn M35 in 1935 – 1940 specifications with the early smooth green. A marsh pattern camo cover has been fitted.
