DIMS LIDS - Restored Combat Helmets
M35 #28 Beaded
M35 #28 Beaded
M35 #28 - Shell: The shell is an original WW2 Model 1935, size 64cm example. The factory stamps appear are Q64 with a batch number of 324. This shell is beaded around its circumference indicating it failed Quality Control as a combat helmet. There are two splits either side of the visor; these may have been the cause for it to fail QC. The shell was relegated to non-combat use in this case as a RLB type. When acquired the shell retained most of its blue-grey paint and this has been retained. It also had the remains of a LW SD; a new LW SD exists. Liner: The liner is a nice replacement M1931 helmet liner, with a zinc outer band and pig skin leather. The leather is ink marked 57 (57cm head size). The liner is of the highest quality; imported from the Czech Republic; identical to originals and the best on the market. Chinstrap: The leather chin strap is a good replacement with aluminium hardware and is marked JOSEPH MOLL 1939 GOCH. Restored Depiction: This M35 beaded shell retains its original factory paint.
