M16 #37 - The shell is an original German, WW1, Model 1916 shell; it has not been restored by me. It is a size 66 with the manufacturer stamp being present beneath the paint but not legible. This shell is in very good condition. It is painted in WW1 type green with a slightly weathered look. The liner is a 1916 type with the thick leather outer band. It fits multiple head sizes. Size and comfort is adjustable through the drawstring and by modifying the padded ‘pillows’ contained at the inner side of each leather tongue. Good example! The leather chinstrap is the 1916 model attached to the posts riveted to the lower flare. It has two brass adjustment buckles brass attachment pieces. The leather is soft and pliable. The helmet represents a standard issue M16 model helmet with the 1916 all leather liner.
