Brit37
Brit37 - The shell is an original WW2, British manufactured MkII shell with a stainless-steel banded edge. The stainless-steel chinstrap lugs are the MkIII type and are unmarked. The factory stamps under the flare are EB II 1942 (Eveson Bros of Worcester). When acquired the shell was covered in multiple layers of paint; olive-drab, yellow and a couple of layers of grey. The shell cleaned up nicely; it was stripped to bare metal, primed then painted in olive-drab with a textured outer. The helmet liner is an imported replacement from SOF in Wales, it has a plastic frame with a vinyl type liner and a draw string. It is a head size 58 cm with a new brass top-nut. The helmet has been fitted with a replacement spring/web type, khaki chinstrap with steel hardware. This helmet has had a desert yellow cam pattern applied over the olive-drab typical of soldiers involved in the Sicily campaign along with a khaki cam net fitted.
