Brit28 - The shell is an original WW2, British manufactured MkII shell with a stainless-steel banded edge. The stainless-steel chinstrap lugs are the MkIII type and are unmarked. There are no clear factory markings evident. When acquired the shell had no paint to speak of; was covered in surface rust with pitting to portions of the outer surface and much of the inner surface. The shell cleaned up nicely. The shell was stripped to bare metal, primed and painted olive-drab inside; the outer is a green and brown camo pattern with a coarse textured finish. The helmet liner is an imported replacement from WPG, it has a plastic frame with a vinyl type liner and a draw string. It is a head size 58 cm with a new brass top-nut. The helmet has been fitted with a replacement spring/web type, khaki chinstrap with steel hardware. A dark olive-drab cam net has been fitted.
