Brit Para #51 - The shell is a MkII Para helmet; most likely post-war. There are no factory stamps evident. I am quite certain it is not British made; perhaps Belgian. When acquired it was painted in the remnants of its original smooth olive-drab. Its original liner, bumper pad and a portion of its web chinstrap existed but were all rotted. The shell was stripped to bare metal, primed then painted olive drab with a textured outer. A new bumper pad has been installed. This helmet has been fitted with a reproduction para liner from SOF in Wales. It is marked BMB 1942 7 1/4 (head size 58cm). This is a quality para liner; it is fitted with blackened original brass chinstrap hangers and original brass mounting bolts. The green webbing, para chinstrap is of post-war Canadian surplus. The helmet has para wings stenciled on the left side in white on black; an original WW2, British purpose made, olive-drab cam net is fitted.
