Brit Para #47

Brit Para #47 - The shell is a Royal Armoured Corps (RAC) Helmet with a stainless-steel band around the rim. It is factory stamped inside one end R06 MA RU 1954. When acquired it was painted in a nice, brush painted, smooth olive-drab. The shell was stripped to bare metal, converted to a MkII para, primed then painted in dark olive-drab with a textured outer. This helmet has been fitted with a reproduction para liner from SOF in Wales along with brass mounting bolts. It is marked BMB 1942 7 1/4 (size 58cm). This is a quality para liner and has been fitted with brass chinstrap hangers from SOF also. The green chinstrap is of post-war surplus. It has a nice black chamois chin cup. The helmet has an Airborne Pegasus decal on the left side and has been fitted with a great net; two tone olive-drab; original Canadian surplus, heavy duty cotton thread.
